Melissa Coker, a native of Lake Forest, IL started her line, Wren, in 2007 to critical acclaim. The name of the line was inspired by a character in the story, Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens named Jenny Wren, a dolls’ dressmaker. This has proved to be appropriate, as the designs from Wren are classic, refined, feminine, and a bit quirky. The details are charming and the looks are versatile making Wren one of my favorite new lines on the market. If you are looking for some style inspiration be sure to check out the wonderful video excerpts from the short film, “Fragile White Blossoms” directed by Alia Raza on the Wren website.
See below for some of my favorite looks from Fall 2008 Wren collection:

P.S. I can’t wait for the Wren Spring 2009 collection either, but partly because it involves another fantastic film entitled “Another 3 Women” from Alia Raza that stars Karen Elson, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and Sarah Sophie Flicker! (But, more on that later :))
