Last night all the stars & fashionistas came out for the Metropolitan Museum’s annual Costume Institute gala. This year’s theme was Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy (the exhibit officially opens Wednesday, May 7th), George Clooney, Julia Roberts & Anna Wintour were the chairs, while designer Giorgio Armani served as this year’s honorary chair.

So many gowns, so little time…It was difficult to choose but here are my favorite looks of the night:

{top} Diane Kruger looking adorable in Chanel & pink (swoon) shoes–#1 in my book; Eva Longoria Parker in Marchesa; Blake Lively in Ralph Lauren; Camilla Bell in Armani Prive;

{bottom} Giselle Buchen & Tom Brady (does she have to have everything?!); Taylor Swift in Badgely Mischka; Hilary Duff in Elie Saab; Liv Tyler in Calvin Klein;

More Looks:

{top} Sarah Larson & George Clooney in Giorgio Armani; Jennifer Lopez in Alberto Ferretti; Beyonce Knowles in Armani Prive; Julia Roberts in Giorgio Armani

{bottom} Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen in custom Diane von Furstenberg gowns; Rachel Bilson in Calvin Klein; Maggie Gyllenhaal in Peter Som; Scarlett Johannson in Dolce & Gabbana;

Not So Favorite Looks of the Night:

{top} Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein; Kate Bosworth in Chanel {hate her hair & makeup}; Katie Holmes in Giorgio Armani; The Beckhams in Armani;

{bottom} Fergie in Calvin Klein {she mistook the gala for a renactment of the Salem Witch Trials} Claire Danes in Narcisco Rodriguez {ditto}; Jennifer Connolly in Balanciaga; Christina Ricci in Givenchy {a mix of love and hate…in the end I decided I hate the red bag & it is a bit too literal for me}

    I have to agree with your not-so- favorite looks (see my blog post on the topic if you’re interested) except for Christina Ricci. I know it’s a little weird and I wouldn’t wear it but I think it suits her quirky style.

    Ricci…her makeup was so pretty…she looked radiant. I almost loved it…I did. I really did. But there are a couple things that probably made me change my mind–they really had nothing to do with what she was wearing but for humors sake I will list them because I realize I made an unpopular decision…

    1) I saw her in an interview this past weekend. I didn’t like her answers–the questions were admittedly stupid, but she just seemed fake.
    2) an ex-boyfriend of mine loved her …like was obsessed with her. i don’t like him, therefore, i don’t really like her. ๐Ÿ™‚

    3) she has been in a series of movies i simply detest. speed racer will surely be another one to add to that list.

    4) I would have put the Olsen’s picture down there because Mary Kate looked disgusting, but I really loved Ashley’s dress. ๐Ÿ™‚
