The Vena Cava fall 2010 collection had very little of their signature hand drawn prints that I love so dearly. Instead, designers, Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, opted for fur-collared parkas, high-waisted culottes paired with fishnets, floppy hats inspired by park rangers, dresses layered over turtlenecks, and easy to wear cocktail dresses. In addition to floppy hats, sunglasses & gloves, the models wore colored extensions in their ponytails that just added to the cool vibe. The designers derived inspiration from a weekend spent in Woodstock and “designed a collection for the Vena Cava woman to wear in her cabin upstate: pieces that read more minimal, American, ’70s tinged, and somewhat classic.” While I don’t plan on heading to an upstate cabin this fall, these looks will be perfect for treks into Brooklyn.
