The Fall 2008 Twinkle by Wenlan collection was a study in contrast. When describing her inspiration for the collection she said:

“Cool girls take their cues from boarding school boys, foxes sneak through the snow and the free-spirited dreamer lives on in the big city.”

If you’re a free spirited dreamer living in the big city this is definitely the collection for you! Flowing graphic dresses were paired with the designer’s signature chunky knits. (It always amazes me that her chunky knits manage to be flattering and are never are at risk of being overly bulky and awkward. Fitting a huge sweater dress cannot be easy!!) Mini-skirts, color-blocked blouses & sweater dresses also reigned supreme at the Twinkle show. Nearly every look in the collection could be worn straight off the runway!

The looks were accessorized with patent leather belts, dip-dyed tights (YES!), and ankle booties. Furthermore, I was really loving the color palette–I seem to be drawn in by the navy & yellow combos for fall 2008. I guess I was one of the dreamers in the big city Wenlan was aiming to please! Mission Accomplished!
