Lucky Shops is the ultimate shopping event hosted by Lucky magazine. I had the pleasure of attending, and unlike SOME people I take a relaxed approach to the event. I come in knowing one thing that I’m looking for (this year I was all about the BAGS!), and only buy things I really love or know that I’ll wear. I try not to buy anything just because it is on “sale”…if i ever have to try to justify something with “…but, it’s SUCH a good deal” I put it down for fear of buyer’s remorse. I can’t deal with having a closet full of orange designer goods that were “good deals”.
Anyway, I arrived somewhat early but still ended up in the BACK of the line. You can’t win…(there was a line for everything…including LEAVING!) It was a beautiful day so I wasn’t concerned, having attended the event before I knew that I wouldn’t have any problems finding things to spend my HARD EARNED money on!
The Trusty Road Map helped me navigate the booths…until my hands got to full to even pull it out!!!:

marc by marc jacobs bags were marked down to $100
i was pysched about the prospects of them, but when I arrived, I was turned off…I headed strait to the botkier booth. There were tons of bags, I grabbed a black one that I LOVED, but I really need a bag that will go with my BROWN merch. They had plenty of gold Botkier bags, but I liked the black better but as I was waiting for them to make out my ticket I was distracted by the anna corrinna bags…there weren’t too many left and girls were SWARMING them. I picked up a white metallic one and started digging. A worker came up to me and snagged the Botkier bag I decided I wasn’t taking, and then another angel of a worker came up and showed me the darker large anna bag! I was so in! I took it right away and had my first purchase!
Sigerson Morrison was calling my NAME…I loved their boots, but it seemed I was only drawn to the shoes other girls were…because they didn’t have my size! With the prices it is understandable. This also happened in the lucky lounge when trying to buy Lacoste black ballet flats. They had the pink ones in 71/2 but the black ones were a no go as the smallest size was an 81/2 and because they run a 1/2 size small there was no way that would have happened! (i should have bought them for my sister but I dropped the ball on that one.
After drinking enough TAB energy drink to last a life time, I saw Chloe Paddington bags, crave-worthy Lauren Merkin clutches, See By Chole blouses, fab jewels by BingBang Jewelry, fabulous Catharine Maladrino dresses, great coats at Tevrow+Chase & Theory, fabulousness at Foley+Corinna, Daryl K, LaRok & Mint. There were great jeans upstairs from Earnest Sewn, JBrand, and AG (although I was disappointed with the spread at the AG booth!). The best thing about the denim bar was that they were hemming jeans FOR FREE! A short girls dream. I didn’t participate, but they were perfecting a ton of skinny jeans!!! The “LOVE Recycled” booth was PURE madness. The booth featured one of a kind designer goods donated by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Heidi Klum, Elizabeth Hurley, Molly Sims, Jessica Seinfeld, etc all for $50. Everything was $50!!! I got there before it got out of control. The Budget Fashionista was there with her mom (i think) and she was seemingly buying up the place…and she bought this great white Burberry jacket was white and I wanted, also a dolce jacket too…anyway I really fucking wanted that jacket, but I was nice and when I saw her later at the bar I told her that it was a great choice. This very cute blonde girl was buying a fabluous Heidi Klum dress and I hit up the shoe bin and scored myself a pair of black patent leather Manolo Blahniks. The soles are slightly worn but the shoes don’t have a scuff on them!!!
Clearly, I’m stoked about them! :
sophie on the other hand:
ummm yea not so much…(i couldn’t resist posting this picture of her today even though i’m pretty sure she is ruining this chair by sleeping on the pillow this way… she smushes it down every five seconds!!! oh and by the way this little beast jumped up onto my DESK stole my favorite GRAPE chapstick & Benahz Sarapour for Target lace headband…she effectively chewed them both up!!!! She is sooooo lucky that chapstick is like 50 cents, and that Benahz headband albeit my favorite is only $8…but still…MY FAVORITES!!!! I just thought you should know…:))
Okay…now on to the LUCKY goods!!! Here are my lucky finds:
