The problem with the VMAs is that they have trouble with out doing themselves. This year was the overhyped back to new york edition, so they were really just setting themselves up to fall short. Jack Black was set to host, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Raconteurs, Panic! At the Disco, & a slew of others were scheduled to preform, so you knew you were in for a good show. So where did they go wrong? The VMAs looked like a 2nd rate Grammy award celebration…the boring acceptance speeches, lame skits, & technical difficulties throughout the night. It was also low on fashionable wardrobe choices.

However Beyonce & Christina looked fabulous:

love the hair, the shoes, but the dress is too tight & too too short!

the otherwise cute Jessica…

I don’t get why she presented if she really is as ILL as she says she is

J to the L O

high on sparkles, low on fabric yet somehow she manages to be covered up from head to toe…I don’t get it, it reminds me of a synchronized swimmer

Fergie:

another Super Short dress, Her mannerisms in this dress annoyed me, but it was cute with the headband.

Justin:

he looked relaxed & i liked that…not his sexiest, bring it back

Paris trying to be edgy with this look…she just reminds me of Bjork’s swan dress

the show:

Oh Jack Black how I adore you, but even you couldn’t save this show. I love when he introduced Paris as
“the world’s most attractive producer of independent film.” & his on screen ” and when he told Kyle that they were not hosting the VMAs as Tenacious D…he would instead be hosting alone because he is ” really, really famous” and said he was “like Jared Leto, and you’re my 30 Seconds to Mars.”

oh yea that reminds me Jared Leto was there:

Okay we get it Jessica you can’t dance
Photobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting
just please don’t use the phrase “push my tush” ever again…yes and that includes any variations and would prevent you from ever singing your lame song “Push Your Tush”

Justin kills it while performing “Sexyback”:

Shakira doing her thing…

her hips don’t lie

Beyonce rings the bell:
Photobucket - Video and Image HostingPhotobucket - Video and Image Hosting
she descends from the ceiling, but i hated the dress like trenches, she should have just wore the corset & hot pants…everyone keeps saying she stole the show, but what about the song…am I the only one that thought it sucked?! Sorry Beyonce, but you still haven’t beat this:

Britney Spears’ “I’m A Slave 4 U” at the 2001 VMAs

i miss the old britney 🙁 however, i liked her performance at the vmas when she was wearing that nude sparkly number…i forget the song. I’m a huge Beyonce fan…but her performance was dry, in my opinion but at least she really sang, which we can’t say about brit.
