after the crazy day that i had yesterday, i wasn’t sure if i was going to be able to deal with today. i have a terrible cold & tonsillitis that makes my voice sound throaty in that scarlett johansson sort of way and that is probably the only good thing about it. the cold weather and the not sleeping or eating thing is really not helping matters. in any event, i woke up early got ready (even my beagle, sophie, wanted nothing to do with me this morning!) and hiked over to Bryant Park. I arrived early, so since the doors don’t open until 9:30, I picked up some starbucks before i headed over to the tents. As it worked out, the guard let me in the lobby before 9:30 so I was able to check my coat, catch up on some reading, and drink a smart water. Lela Rose, did not disappoint me with her beautiful collection, and the adorable Lela Rose for Payless shoes! There were many looks in the collection that reminded me of Marni, and the crowd pleasing white gown that was adorned with flowers and a charcoal band is something i want, i want it for my wedding, or to wear while watching the oscars…i just want it. That particular gown would not have looked out of place on a Monique Lhuillier runway. Regardless of any similarities that I may have found in Lela Rose’s collection, it was beautiful, cohesive, and feminine. The collection had scooping low back gowns, ruched sleeves, tulip skirts, and slim cropped pants. The palette was navy, marigold, crimson, charcoal, & ivory) The models had a clean natural look, and their hair was swept up into sleek ponytails. The looks were accessorized with patent leather belts, and the lela rose for payless fall shoe collection (lela rose’s first ever shoe collection & it will be available in stores or online at payless.com in august 2007).
