There was a girl who I rode the bus with back in middle school that when asked what her favorite color was she responded very matter-of-factly, “clear”. This girl was a few years older than me, was not my friend, nor even a real acquaintance and yet after all these years I remember her response. Wherever she is, I imagine her to be loving this latest sunglass trend as clear and transparent sunglasses are all the rage. Admittedly, I was less enthusiastic about the transparent shade trend when I saw similar looks on the Lanvin & Sonia Rykiel runways. I always hate it when I feel myself wearing down, but I couldn’t resist when I saw a photo of Sienna Miller wearing a pair at a photo shoot with Keira Knightley for The Edge of Love looking completely adorable in clear Benjamin “Kayne” sunglasses:

Beware, I find that a clear lens paired with a clear frame gives one a “I just got out of shop class, and forgot to take off my safety goggles” look. In my humble opinion, a clear frame with a darker lens, or a transparent frame with a clear lens looks better. Unless of course you are going for the safety first look, then by all means, own it!
