Some lucky kids already have a copy, and I’m not even talking about the leaked PDF! One random (& lucky) dude on a subway in Baltimore was getting a head start reading his own copy he had pre-ordered. Apparently, he isn’t the only one!!! There were a handfull of stores & websites who shipped the pre-ordered copies out early much to the dismay of Harry Potter’s publishers! {source: The Spell Is Broken, The Baltimore Sun} JK Rowling released a statement expressing outrage after several American publications (one being the New York Times) published a book review of Harry Potter 7 because the article(s) included spoilers:

“I am staggered that American newspapers have decided to publish purported spoilers in the form of reviews in complete disregard of the wishes of literally millions of readers, particularly children, who wanted to reach Harry’s final destination by themselves, in their own time. I am incredibly grateful to all those newspapers, booksellers and others who have chosen not to attempt to spoil Harry’s last adventure for fans.”

Everyone is desperate to get a copy of this book, and the publishers are doing everything they can to keep it under wraps! Gawker apparently has a copy and NYMag is running about town bribing bookstore janitors in an effort to try get their hands on one! But if you’re like me, you’ll have to wait for the midnight launch!

I don’t have kids, but I act like one, so you better believe I’ll be reading a copy at 12:01am! There are some fun things going on the city tonight for those of you who do have kids & want to celebrate in Hogwarts style, check them out, and if you know of other events going on in the city, email me or leave them in the comments field!
