The Gap has once again tapped some of our favorite designers to offer a fresh take on the classic white shirt with their Design Editions Collection.

Patchwork shirt by Band of Outsiders $88;
3/4-sleeved top by Phillip Lim $78;

While I am always up for designer goods for affordable prices, I’m afraid this capsule collection has fallen short of expectations. I still have the same concerns about this collection as I did last year’s installment.

With that said, the Three As Four dress might just be worth a trip to the Gap:

Cut-out dress by Three As Four $88;
As is this cuff by Philip Crangi:

Wide Resin Cuff by Philip Crangi $45;

Final verdict: Lets try to reinvent something other than a white shirt next year? They were onto something with that little thing we like to call COLOR. 🙂

    I totally agree with you. I liked the Mouret but the white shirts just don’t do it for me. The restricted fabric means you only need one piece (I got the Thakoon last year and returned the rest). This year, I don’t need any of it-the fabrics are just wrong.
