In Brazil, many locals tie colorful ribbons to their wrists because they believe the ribbons attract good luck and ward off misfortune. They are referred to as “Senhor do Bonfim” ribbons. “Bonfim” translated means “Good Ending”. This article does an excellent job of explaining the custom & the history behind it. Jewelry designer, Karina Matias, has created some colorful {& lucky} bangles using “Senhor do Bonfirm” ribbons and they couldn’t be more perfect for summer! Try one{or two) on!
