Last year, I compiled a list of fabulous boutiques in the New York area for some of my out of town readers, and I have once again been working on it. Sadly there are a few of my favorites that I included on last years list that are no longer (Girlshop & Edith & Daha, two of my ALL-TIME favorites), but there are so many wonderful shops in the city, and Edith Machinist slipped in to my top 10!…there are always new ones springing up, so it is hard to keep up. It is also easy to get sidetracked when you are shopping…there is always an unexpected shop that draws you in!!! If any of you fellow New York fashionistas have any recommendations that i probably inadvertently left off of one of my lists, please include the info in my comments. Here are a few of my favorite boutiques in the big apple!

Zachary’s Smile
9 Greenwich Ave. (btw. Christopher St./W 10th.),
This shop carries brilliantly reworked pieces at fair & affordable prices! I can’t get enough!

Marc by Marc Jacobs
403-405 Bleecker St. (at W. 11th St.)
I live in this store. Frequently, I lie there weeping because I can’t afford every single thing that I want to buy and have to CHOOSE one thing…and forcing me to CHOOSE is seriously not fair. The staff is beyond helpful, and Magnolia Bakery is next door (stop by the bakery AFTER though, because you can’t bring in food or drinks to MJ).

Flight 001
96 Greenwich Ave. (btw. W. 12th/Jane Sts.),
there are fabulous travel accessories here, but you can also find other fabulously designed gadgets, gifts, and accessories including handbags 🙂

242 Elizabeth St. (btw. Houston/Prince Sts.),

This boutique is owned my former model Jane Mayle. Pick up gorgeous, flattering dresses. The staff is friendly & helpful, and the interior is worthy of a stop!

443 E. Sixth St. (at Ave. A),
Head over to Gomi Nyc to pick up fabulous eco-friendly pieces, and reworked vintage pieces. This shop is small inside but the finds are casual, afforable, & fun!
