I have always had a special place in my heart for Barbie. As a girl my extensive collection of Barbies were named after super models and celebrities of the day, were styled to perfection, and lived lives fit for a daytime soap opera. A few were killed off in dramatic fashion, most memorably a long-haired Rock Star Ken. Rock Star Ken received a tragic hair cut before his eventual demise (“Madonna” drove their Corvette off a “cliff”, if you must know) and then was discretly disposed of in the garbage. Maybe it was because I subconsciously knew that my idolization of Barbie was causing my self-esteem irrevocable damage, or maybe it was because I had a flair for drama. Who knows!? (Do you all remember Cosmetic Surgery Fun Barbie? Mattel hasn’t picked her up, but they will sooner or later I know it!!! ) Okay, enough with the nostalgia! This Barbie Murder Photography series caught my eye, and reminded me a bit of Melanie Pullen’s High-Fashion Crime Scene Photography series that I love so much.

Whether you love her or hate her (I consider Barbie my dearest frenemy) you will surely enjoy these photos by WildeMoon:

all prints are $5 each (how GREAT is that?), and are available online right here

RIP Barbie! You were fabulous!
