So, I finally got around to checking out the Design Editions @ the Gap featuring the designs of CFDA award winners, Doo.Ri, Rodarte, & Thakoon. The theme for the limited edition collection has been inspired by the “classic white shirt”. Prices range from $68-$88. After trying on several different styles I decided my favorite designs were all Rodarte I loved the bow pocket dress & the bow embellished tank top. Both were extremely flattering. I was also quite fond of the Doo.Ri shirt dress. I did not purchase the Rodarte bow dress though, largely because it wasn’t lined. It was an $88 white dress and it wasn’t lined (what do you expect, right?). The dress looked pretty sheer under the dressing room lights…I can’t imagine what it would look like in sunlight!! I guess I just didn’t feel like shopping for a slip too, so I decided to buy the top & not the dress.
Gap Design Editions by Rodarte:
I did however, opt for another white dress from the Gap, which, although clearly not as sophisticated as the Rodarte dress, is lined, and makes for a perfect layering piece (it was also considerably less money). I wore the Gap Tiered Dress this weekend under my Lux Crochet bib dress I purchased a while ago from Urban outfitters and it looked awesome. I got a few inquiries as to where I bought it, and had to explain it was actually TWO dresses… I would wear both separately of course, but I just liked the way the two looked together! Anyway, I thought I would share my thoughts on (& experiences) Gap’s latest installment.
