I have been searching for inspiration, and one of the best places to look can often be right in front of you. I rarely keep my art on hand, as I have given a lot away as gifts, and a lot of my work has been commissioned so by its nature it isn’t for myself. I also have a lot of my older work stored at my parents house…some of which is currently hanging on the walls. During my last trip back to the midwest my boyfriend even suggested that we steal my drawings right off the walls to decorate our new apartment!!! How terrible would that be-especially when they were gifts from me!!??? My mother, as you could imagine, was strongly opposed to this idea, but I decided I would photograph those very drawings and use them as inspiration for future work that would appease the boy. Anyway, I thought I would share two of my favorites with you all.

“piggyback” pencil drawing was completed in 1999 and was given to my mother as a christmas gift; the “swing” pen & ink drawing was completed 2 years ago and was also a christmas gift to my mama!

hopefully there will be more of these to come! check out my etsy shop for some of my more current work or contact me directly at platinumblondelife5@mac dot com for more information on custom work.
