I am loving the playful images found in the Elizabeth & James Spring look book. The blazers, jackets, floral prints, and of course their jewelry collection captured my interest immediately.
If you like your pastel to have a bit of edge, Botkier has some motorcycle style bags in tough black or easter egg shades like seafoam and yellow. I say, the more zippers, the better!
The news from my inbox says that Kate Spade is currently having a Friends & Family sale offering 30% off, so today is looking especially bright! So, check your inbox ladies!
P.S. If you don't have the email I will be happy to forward anyone who needs it! xo, Melanie
In celebration of their NYC Flagship opening on April 2nd the TopShop folks have descended on our city with free stuff in hand. Simply track down one of Topshop's Heartschallenger vans now through April 1st to collect your gear. Which can apparently include gift cards up to $500, but more than like will include a flimsy tote and a magazine. There will also be amazing giveaways, pampering, and shopping on the store opening day April 2nd 11am where it will all be going down on the corner of Broome & Broadway in Soho (but get there early, because we are all anticipating a killer line!)! For now, use Topshop's GPS tracker to get some free stuff and report back if there is anything worth scuffing my stilletos for. :)
The trailer for the movie based on the beloved children's book, "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak has just been released. Judging from the trailer, I really like the way Spike Jonze has adapted the book to film. Check it out, it will warm your heart:

D-Squared talks about what it is like to dress Britney for her Circus Tour in the New York Time's blog, "The Moment", read it all here: "The Three-Ring Circus | Dsquared on Britney"
The Dace Spring 2009 look book makes me want to pick up city life and drive to a little cabin house by the lake with my dog, a row boat and a closet full of Dace's spring collection (naturally).
I love these fun & steamy photos of the Gossip Girl cast that will be featured in the new issue of Rollingstone. Blake Lively & Leighton Meester's ice cream shot will grace the cover. Check out the photos below:
Today I am in awe of Erica Shires photos taken for the Erica Tanov Spring 2009 lookbook. They are simply breathtaking. The subtle prints and easy styles are equally lustworthy.
I love the idea of pairing floral dresses and skirts with preppy blazers and cardigans. Rugby Ralph Lauren has a nice selection of both. Check out my favorite pieces below:
Topshop is finally opening here in the states right in NYC on April 2nd at 478 Broadway in Soho located at the corner of Broadway & Broome (near Madewell and across the street from Pearl River Mart). I can't wait! Here are a few of my favorites from Topshop's online boutique:
Hats and hair accessories have nearly taken over my closet, but one of my favorite pieces is a head band by Jennifer Behr. It is a staple for my formal events, and with wedding & prom season right around the corner I couldn't think of a better time to share some of my favorites from her collection:
View the bridal collection here, the seasonal collection here.
Charlotte Ronson's floral dresses, high waists, and exposed zippers captured my attention immediately on the runway, and now I am seeing several potential options for reality. I plan to work from the bottom up...the shoes are too cute to ignore! Check out my favorite looks from the C. Ronson spring lookbook:
Rachel Antonoff's retro inspired garden dresses for spring are simply darling. I have a sneaking suspicion that wearing one of these dresses will give you the urge to water flowers, and bake cupcakes all day long.
Britney looked amazing at her show last night-check out the pics above! The reviews are mostly very good! She is BACK!
Check out this close up look at Britney's costumes-it is truly amazing she can get into these things so fast, and dance in those shoes!
More Behind the Scenes Video of Britney dancing at the Candie's shoot:
Her body is rocking! Just amazing! Britney will bring the Circus to the NY area at the Nassau Coliseum March 11 and 23 and the Prudential Center in Newark March 13 and 14. We can't wait!
It is too cold to even think about my spring wardrobe, but that doesn't mean I can't admire these whimsical looks from the Morgane Le Fey Spring/Summer 2009 collection:
I love the "petal" tiers! View the entire collection here.
If you're into funky earrings or quirky costume jewelry you should check out the creations by Linda Smyth and Rebecca Pulver! Linda's five year old line Fleathers has a wonderful assortment of colorful & patterned jewelry inspired by birds, flowers, and nature. Linda collaborated with Rebecca Pulver to start their Rabidfox line three years ago which features metal jewelry in the form of fun animal inspired baubles. I love the colors and patterns found throughout this online shop and am completely smitten with the unicorn ring!
The Nor'easter has made walking in heels of any kind downright dangerous if not completely impossible. Because I don't want you to break any of your pretty little bones, I'm presenting you with a completely cute alternative: Plueys wellies. These babies will get you through the ridiculous March snow and the rainy spring (if it ever comes).
If you're in need of a laugh this Monday afternoon then I have just the thing. Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, and Jason Segel have recreated the now infamous March 2006 Vanity Fair cover that featured Tom Ford, Keira Knightley, & Scarlett Johansson for VF's April 2009 issue. The boys made me laugh out loud! {photos by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair}

I also can't wait to see her "If You Seek Amy" video...any video where the Ruffle Louboutins make an appearance is sure to be a HIT (we certainly loved them at the Phillip Lim Spring 2009 show)!
These graphic throw pillow cushion covers from the Etsy shop, Be Still, brightened my morning! These offer a quick and easy way to add unique prints and patterns to your decor!
