Silhouettes

My favorite item to search for in antique shops is vintage silhouette artwork. There are several shops in my neighborhood that dedicate entire walls to such works and are always affordably priced. I always have to fight off the urge to cover all of my walls with such works! I guess you could say I have a little bit of an obsession with silhouettes...especially the figurative variety. Custom silhouettes are a fantastic gift idea for Mother's day and other holidays and I think when I have kids I will definitely want silhouette artwork done for each of their pretty little heads. I know several people who have pet silhouettes hanging in their house too, but Sophie hasn't quite made it onto the wall yet! I always have had a special place in my heart for cameos and silhouettes and am always looking for new and creative takes on the cult favorite.
