Heidi Montag lip syncing at her birthday party at LAX with fiance Spencer Pratt & Perez Hilton looking on in the background:
Word is they booed her mercilessly (which you can hear midway through this video. I was more appauled by her use of arms than anything.

Jenny Owen Youngs' cover of Nelly's "Hot In Herre" makes me double over in laughter:
Currently Listening To: Kate Nash
Thursday, September 27, 2007
i love everything from kate nash, but this song, the nicest thing, is my current obsession:
largely because this sums up everything for me when it comes to love interests:
"...i wish i was your favourite girl, i wish you thought i was the reason you are in the world. i wish i was your favourite smile, i wish the way that i dressed was your favourite kind of style. i wish you couldn't figure me out, but you always wanna know what i was about. i wish you'd hold my hand when i was upset, i wish you'd never forget the look on my face when we first met. i wish you had a favourite beauty spot that you loved secretly, 'cos it was on a hidden bit that nobody else could see. basically, i wish that you loved me, i wish that you needed me, i wish that you knew when i said two sugars, actually i meant three. i wish that without me your heart would break, i wish that without me you'd be spending the rest of your nights awake. i wish that without me you couldn't eat, i wish i was the last thing on your mind before you went to sleep. all i know is that you're the nicest thing i've ever seen; i wish that we could see if we could be something"
& because her voice is beautiful! love kate nash! hear more here!
check out the video for foundations too because it is quite funny! click here to watch!

Dress Du Jour: AKA New York Necklace Dress
This dress is simple, chic, & feminine! I love the contrast of the white silk and the black lace yoke. While white silk is sometimes tricky, I think this would make the perfect party dress!

Congratulations to the Donatos!!!
Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Dick & Daniele Donato, the estranged father & daughter pair, made it to the final 2 of Big Brother 8. Dick won by a vote of 5 to 2. They were both amazing in the game--hands down the best of the whole group! I was all for Daniele for day 1 (gotta go for the blonde), but Dick (a/k/a Tommy Lee's clone) was super fun to watch. He stole my heart the moment when he poored ice tea on Jen's head. I wish them both the best of luck in the future!!!
ps I would TOTALLY trust the Donatos!!!
(super cute photo of them both from Daniele's Live Journal)
Colbert, Stewart, & Carell Highlight of the Emmy's
Monday, September 17, 2007
In my opinion this was the highlight of the Emmy's last night (which is sorta sad). I'm waiting for Colbert to have Tony Bennett on his show since he lost to Tony last night. He previously lost to Barry Manilow & had him on the show! :)
In the Dahl House
Project Runway alum, Alison Kelly, is currently having a sale on her spring/summer Dahl collection. As I was browsing through I found these two lovely dresses currently marked down on the Dahl site:

Southwest Airlines and the case of the Phantom Dress Code
Thursday, September 13, 2007
By now, you have probably heard about Southwest Airlines passenger, Kyla Ebbert, who was reprimanded on her flight for wearing an "inappropriate" outfit on her flight out of San Diego to another hot climate. Kyla appeared on the Today show wearing the exact outfit she wore on her flight, and struck me instantly as a PG rated outfit.
Wearing a tank top, sweater, and short denim mini skirt, Kyla looked like a million other girls you see walking around airports these days in the summer. So why is Southwest making a big deal? I have no idea! Southwest has no posted guidelines as to what someone should wear on their flights. By the way, this is the same airline that issued hot pants & go go boots as uniforms to their flight attendants in the 1970s!
Oh my how times have changed! Another young, female passenger, Setara Qassim, who was flying for Tucson Arizona to Burbank, Ca, was also reprimanded my Southwest employees and asked to cover up or get off the plane all for wearing a low cut top. An outfit that I also don't find offensive.
I find it all to be a bit ridiculous. If Southwest is going to threaten people to get off their planes for wearing what they deem to be inappropriate attire they should at the very least have the courtesy to inform their passengers of the standards they are using. After all, flying isn't cheap these days. Last time I checked wearing less made it easier to get past security. I vote for us to go back to hot pants days...flying would be more entertaining to say the least!
Here is a video of Kyla Embert with her mother and attorney on the Today show discussing the issue:
Please note: I also think it is ridiculous that they think they have a case to sue the airline (however, they may have a case if she had been forced to deplane).
Congratulations to Kristin & Trevor: It's A Girl!

Current Obsession: Loeffler Randall Fall 2007 Collection
I am currently obsessing over Loeffler Randall's fall 2007 collection, specifically the Butterfly Coat in taupe. Jessie Randall, the designer behind Loeffler Randall, and the winner of this year's CFDA Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent in Accessory Design has expanded her brand to include a ready-to-wear collection. The collection is feminine, elegant, sophisticated with a subtly retro feel. The butterfly coat and red cape must be mine this fall!!! That of course with maybe a new pair of Estella pumps to match. Check out the latest offerings served up by Jessie Randall below, or via Loeffler Randall's website (the LR line sheet reads like one huge wish list for me).
outerwear:
Loeffler Randall Butterfly Coat $695(shown in Taupe Cashmere);

Loeffler Randall Flutter Coat $475 @ Shopbop; Loeffler Randall Butterfly Jacket $465 @ Active Endeavors
ready to wear:
{l to r}: Loeffler Randall Bustier Top $235; Loeffler Randall Tie Jumper $295; Loeffler Randall Simple Tunic $225; all @ shopbop
shoes:
{clockwise}Loeffler Randall Calliope Satin Color Block Flat $345; Loeffler Randall Estella Ruffle Suede Pump $375;Loeffler Randall Coy Suede Twist Pump $415; Loeffler Randall Dot Button Low Wedge Flat $360; all @ shopbop
For those of you who have a bit of sticker shock (who doesn't?) don't fear, Jessie Randall will be teaming up with Target to create an accessories line for the mass retailer very soon!!! I will be purchasing the items below for sure (that is if that Butterfly Coat doesn't totally break the bank!)
The above pictured items will debut at select Target stores in early 2008!
Must Read Of The Day: "Who Will Pull Together the Collections?"
"Who Will Pull Together the Collections?" 9/9/2007 The New York Times
This New York Times article focuses on the profiles of three stylists: Victoria Bartlett (Miss Sixty), Karl Templer (Calvin Klein) and Kate Young (Yigal Azrouƫl), who are responsible for various behind the curtain tasks that range from casting models, choosing colors, styling & accessorizing the ensembles, to hiring & directing the hair & make up staff. All of this is done behind the scenes for a steep price tag sometimes commanding $5000 a day. The article provides rare insight as to the events that take place behind the scenes at our favorite fashion houses.

Britney Performs at the VMAS...its a good start!
Sunday, September 09, 2007
The Britney Spears VMA performance was one of the most talked about perfromances in a long time. I have to say it was so refreshing to see Britney in the news & on TV for her music/performances. I love it. I also love that I have two new Britney songs on my ipod. This is a great first step for Britney to start her comeback, but she isn't in the clear yet. She really needs to focus now on what she does best...make music & dance. That means hitting the studio, the gym, and the hair salon (& not necessarily in that order). I think she looks great with all things considered. The performance wasn't one of her best (obviously), but we hold Britney to a higher standard than most because we expect her to go out and blow our minds. She looked a tad nervous, but I can't hold that against her...her whole career is riding on this!!! We've seen better from Britney, but in my mind this is better than nothing. The outfit was hot. I was concerned about that, and this was MUCH better than the costumes she was wearing during her M+M concert so I have to give her extra points for that. Her hair need serious help...the extensions are terrible (and look painful). She looked unsure of her dancing...to that end the performance was bumpy. She also didn't sing live, but I didn't expect she would...she's Britney. We need MORE Britney, please give us more! Here are some photos of the performance & a video of Britney's performance!

I hope this is just the beginning...gimme more Britney!
