nyc skyline from a central park bridge located on the east side of the park near 59th street
color pencil
working in midtown i spend a lot of time in the park, taking photos, sketching, reading, or just walking around clearing my head. it is beautiful...i think i made the water here look a little bit better than it does ususally (it is REALLY green, and looks much like a field of grass), I added a bit of blue just to add some color.

I know this spot! What a great representation of this part of the skyline!
I've been to NY only once and for some reason never made it to Central Park. Hoping to visit again. Great illo. Beautiful!
nice work and a pretty scene
I recognize that spot - used to be one of my favorite lunch spots when I had a soul killing job wearing a suit at an insurance company.
I'm loving this week's Illustration Friday because a few people have done lovely skylines of NY including yourself and they make me HAPPY! I got engaged in Central Park on New Years Eve so I really enjoyed seeing your image. Thank you!
watever i've seen of the central park in movies n serials ahs been enuf to make me fall in love wid this place ;)
Now I want to go watch You Got Mail on DVD. Thanks for turning me into a Romantic Comedy dork.
But it's a great piece.
thank you all for your kind comments. i'm so happy people actually recognized the location! (it helps i gave the location--i suppose it is better than me giving a street address & in response everyone is convinced i was on hallucinogens when i was sketching due to it's lack of resemblence!!!)
central park is a lovely place. it is what i love most about this city. makita...please come back to new york and just walk through the park...even for a short while. it will make you love this city if you don't already! bill...thanks. it is a lovely spot if you need to retrieve your soul. zara...lucky you to be engaged in the park! it is so romantic...i hope one day when a boy decides to propose to me it will be in a setting that romantic! :) dark lord... damn you for mentioning "you got mail"...i love meg ryan (natch), and now you have me wanting to watch that movie TOO! I guess paybacks are a biatch!

What a nice place to live.
A little bit of country in a lot of city.
hey thanks for your comment... I LOVE your skyline..... I grew up in RI (38 years) and drove through NY MANY times to visit my parents in VA after they moved away. I have always loved New York but never wanted or have been afraid i should say...to live in a big city as I am a country girl at heart.... But the sites and sounds of new york have always fascinated me.... Kristin
like the way u made it simple nice view and work
Beautiful art and place
This is great. I'm so jealous--I really miss NYC. I lived there when I was your age (I'm older now) and really loved it. I've been back to visit but not often enough. It was fun reading through your blog. You're a very interesting and funny person! Thanks for dropping by mine for a visit and for leaving the nice comment.
Brings back memories of when I proposed in Central Park. Lovely image
Great job! I love the soft blend of colors and how the blue building is right in the middle of the piece. Also, thank you for coming to my blog and leaving the nice comment!
I have not made it to NY yet but when I do I hope it is as lovely as your illo.
love
Your illustration is quite beautiful. I recognized it right off the bat cause I took a photo from very near there about 20 yrs ago to do a watercolor (which I regret I never did). I was married to a New Yorker for 20 years so I was fortunate enough to go there every year at least once or twice during that time. At the risk of sounding like a t-shirt "I Love N.Y."
Oh...this really makes me miss NY! I grew up outside of the city, went to NYU, lived in Manhattan for several years, but now I'm landlocked in NW CT. We rarely get into the city...and I miss it! This is such a lovely depiction of that spot:>
thank you so much for all of your lovely comments! :)
Fantastic! You really captured Central Park. I love the soft colors - just a lovely illio!
Reminds me of when I went to NY as a kid - wandering around the park, going on one of those horse and cart ride. Great!
