1) The Today Show on NBC--I woke up thinking I was going to work, took a shower even, and realized there was no way I could make it another step. Granted I could stroll by the studio every morning, but I was excited to be able watch it from home! Lucky for me Martha Stewart was there promoting the new mag Blueprint (I picked up my copy today and so far I love it!!!) and demonstrating how to make ultra cute scarf bags as demonstrated here and below:

KNOTTED BAG
32-inch-square scarf or 45-inch-square tablecloth
1. Lay the scarf facedown. Pull one of the corners through one hand to create a tail about one-third the length of the side; tie a knot.
2. Repeat the same tail-knotting on the scarf's other three corners.
3. For handles, tie the upper two tails together in a square knot (right over left, left over right); repeat with the lower two tails.

BANGLE BAG
22-inch-square scarf, two bangles
1. Lay the scarf face up. Slip two adjacent corners through a bangle from the front, and pull the ends out to opposite sides.
2. Wrap the corners around to the front of the bangle, and tie the corners in a square knot (right over left, left over right).
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the other side of the scarf and a second bangle. Tuck billows inward, and pull on the scarf to "inflate" it.

WAIST PACK
22-inch-square scarf, two belt loops
Although it may not be P.C. in some circles to call this bag a fanny pack, it can always use an update. And the more style you give it, the fewer tourist jokes can follow you both around.
1. Hold scarf, face in, between two belt loops. Thread left corner through left loop, and right corner through right loop.
2. Tie the dangling corner on the left side to the belt-looped corner above it in a square knot. Repeat on the right side.

all from the new blueprint magazine--i can't wait to try the knotted and bangle bag out!!!
other things i watched:
2) the view--elisabeth hasselback was featured in the new york times style section yesterday wearing shorts (i happen to own a pair from theory) so i thought i might as well tune in.
3) days of our lives -i felt really low while watching this
4) general hospital--i was shameless, i actually enjoyed this
5) oprah--why couldn't it have been the vince vaughan episode??
verdict:while, it was nice to have a taste of what i'm missing working 40+ hrs a week the reality is i'm really not missing much and i'm really glad i have a job. now, this maybe would have changed had my buddy vince been on oprah on the day i happened to be home all day!!! Pin It
