Lost: Lost and Found Pet Posters from Around the World by Ian Phillips; Found : The Best Lost, Tossed, and Forgotten Items from Around the World by Davy Rothbart
why don't i ever FIND anything cool or interesting? well, i did see a really cool chunky necklace as i was crossing 57th street yesterday that had obviously been dropped or had fallen off, and i thought about picking it up after it narrowly escaped being crushed by a cab, but then i thought to myself, "ummm gross! it is in the middle of the street, not only is it probably broken, but it is DIRTY!!! And you certainly don't need any more JUNK!" so, I left it there to be crushed into a million pieces. As a new yorker, I have programmed into my brain to ignore anything & everyone, unless there is an unattended package, then I must report it for fear that it may be a bomb ("see something, then say something" has been embedded in my brain via the MTA propaganda) , so that pretty much rules out my chances of finding something quirky or cool and that isn't even taking into consideration that I am probably a germ-a-phob. yea, i have no chance. I will forever be stuck in the "why didn't i think of that" mode.

2Gether 4Ever: Notes of a Junior High School Heartthrob by Dene Larson
i have a soft spot for nostalgia & this will bring me straight back to my note writing days with "snoop", "skull" ,"megan" ,"moe" , & "molly" the aliases from middle school that i can remember.
*photo/sketchbook projects of my own: lemonade stands i hope to photograph several lemonade stands this summer... so, consider this my call for all kiddies with entrepreneurial spirit!!! i also have a commute photo project & a "first thing i see" photo project waking up, walking out the front door, tour of my pad etc. primarily for my fam @ home i thought photos could be more interesting than a video, photos: simple can be intriguing, videos: boring is boring look no further than my ex-boyfriend's "a day at work video" if anyone is interested i bet i could have someone back home dig it up, but i'm guessing it won't be worth the effort :)
