my logic board, myself

yay, my ibook is back in my hands!!!

computer update & my motherboard, myself)

it turns out all the matrix cia-esque scramble on my screen was due to my logic board failing. luckily my warranty covered all repairs and all of my files on my computer were salvaged. had my computer not been under warranty the repairs would have cost well over $500, so I actually got my money's worth as far as my warranty goes (it is up January 3rd!). For more info on Apple's Logic Board Repair Program go here. This most likely only applies to you if you are using a computer that is 3 or more years old.
maybe, i'll think about buying a new computer in 2006, but until then i'm back with my love who i mistakenly referred to as "sophie" last night. "sophie" is my dog's name who i am severely attached to. but, that just goes to show you how much i love that damned computer. i renamed the computer "sophie the second" but that didn't quite make sense given that i've had the computer longer than i have miss sophia. I threw out some other names...since sophie's full name is "Sophia Loren" i suggested some other names "marilyn monroe" "grace kelly" only for them to be met with laughter. So I named my computer "Hannah". My friend Tricia used to babysit for two little girls Hannah & Sophie and "Hannah" was the eldest of the two so I thought it was appropriate. yea, i know i'm ridiculous, but i don't care because i have my "computa" back.

I know a lot of people who have had problems with their iBook/Powebook logic boards, I guess the svelteness came at the price of overheating in some cases.
