abercrombie hate mail
or
something like it
(previous posts relating to abercrombie: abercrombie attitude tees stir things up )
because i have a love hate relationship with abercrombie i found this ny times article from last thursday's style section particularly amusing:
addressing the abercrombie issue:
I work near the Abercrombie store on 5th ave and often walk by it on my lunch break. As you approach it does sound very much like you are passing a club. The thumping music is 10 times worse than passing gyms. Another loud music playing violater is hands down Armani Exchange. While I can't speak to the service at the 5th Ave store I can't imagine that it is any better than anywhere else in the U.S. I will say that Abercrombie's service is usually better in the smaller markets. For example, the employees at the store in Watertower on Michigan Ave in Chicago flat out suck, but out east, back home in Des Moines & Coralville, and in the Chicago suburbs they are more attentive and less annoying than say a JCrew associate who nearly always come off as fake & too too too salesy. Nonetheless, I was shocked that the music was as loud as it was, but then again it isn't like I shop there on a frequent basis. I am more likely to check out their website than anything unless I am shopping with my highschool age sister. I always like how their jeans look, but I usually stay true and purchase my AGs that I am obsessed with because of their fit and comfort. I do however look for sweater cardigans (because they aren't bulky or baggy (naturally, it IS ABERCROMBIE we are talking about here) and cute embellished tanks and camisoles. Even if it is infrequent that I shop there the things I own from Abercrombie typically withstand wash and wear.
